Present: M^r J H Warman, M^r J T Fisher, G H A Beard.
There not being five Members present nor order was made or resolution passed but the Canal works and stores were inspected from Wallbridge to Framilode and the Members present think it right to state that the Walls of the Dudbridge Lock which were inspected and examined last year are gradually getting worse and should be soon repaired.
That a new foot Bridge should be made to take the place of the present one at Hilly Orchard immediately.
That the retaining Walls running from the Railway Ocean Bridge should be repaired but by whom the Members cannot say.
That the new gates ordered last year for the lower end of the top Lock of the five should be put in not later than next Summer.
Samuel Critchley applied for leave to give up the house and premises at Eastington in his occupation and proposed James Godell King as his successor and he being approved by the Members present they recommend the Committee to let the premises to him from 19^th September next.
The Surveyor produced his report pursuant to the resolution passed at the last Committee Meeting of all the Sewers and Drains he had found emptying into the Canal and of all drains and pipes he has discovered for taking water from the Canal which statement was considered correct and they recommend the Solicitor to make application to the parties using such Sewers, pipes, and drains and require the same to be stopped where no legal right exists to continue their use.
That the new Liebye at Stonehouse is not completed in depth and should not be forgotten when the Railway Siding is made by the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway Company.
