At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Thursday the 25^th day of April 1867
Present: M^r Sam^l Phipps, W W Kearsey Chairman, F S Thornton, J T Fisher, J C Hallewell, G H A Beard.
The various Accounts Books and vouchers signed by M^r Coley the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced examined and passed.
The Treasurer's book was produced examined and signed.
M^r W H Withey applied on behalf of the Stroud Gas Light & Coke Company for leave to carry a pipe under the Canal at the Gas Works Bridge.
Resolved that the application be granted on the terms of the work being done to the satisfaction of our Company's Surveyor, and upon payment of a sum of 2^s/ per annum as an acknowledgement, that the pipe is only on sufferance, and is to be removed, if, and when required.
M^r Warman J^r attended with reference to his Bill for £1..8..8 for copies of letters entered in the paid Bill of M^r Warman Sen^r but not charged for which copies were subsequently sent to M^r Kearsey Solicitor on his Appointment with the Claim of £1..8...8 and the correspondence between M^r Warman & M^r Kearsey on the subject was read.
Resolved that the Committee refrained from taking Action in the hope that M^r Warman may yet feel it right to withdraw the Claim.
Ordered that the Seal of the Company be affixed to a Demise of House situate near the Gas Works to M^r J Cox.
Ordered that the following Bills be paid:
