Summary

Mr Grazebrook and other gentlemen met with Mr Hicks and agreed with him for the absolute purchase of the island at the price of £98 per acre, the same to be remeasured by a person to be appointed for that purpose. Mr Hicks shall take to the house occupied by William Beard upon paying the Company the value of the materials thereupon the house to be given up to Mr Hicks as soon as the company can provide another for William Beard, and until that period to pay a fair rent for the same.
Sam Keene of Hampton to be employed to measure the island correctly, and Mr Clarke to be desired to prepare a deed of enforcement for the conveyance thereof.
Edward Keene and William Beard employed to measure the materials of the house in the occupation of William Beard so that the amount can be deducted from the purchase money to be paid to Mr Hicks.
Our clerk reported that he had offered the sale of the ketch to Messrs Mules & Barnett for 500 guineas which was declined but £500 was offered and accepted by five of the committee.
Proposal from Sam Bird of Brimscombe for building a new barge for the committee. He is to be desired to attend the next meeting.
Thames & Severn Canal committee offered £15 towards the making of a culvert to take the Badbrook water under their canal. They were not disposed to join in making the culvert.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Wednesday the 7^th of January 1807
Present: Sir Sam^l Wathen, Jos^h Grazebrooke, Rev^d Jos^h Colborne, Rowles Scudamore, Benj^n Grazebrooke, Nath^l Jones, Nath^l Wathen.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting. Continued the Orders of the last Meeting.
M^r J Grazebrooke reported that the other Gentlemen deputed with himself had met M^r Hicks and had agreed with him for the absolute purchase of the Island at the price of ^£ 98 per Acre the same to be remeasured by a Person to be appointed for that purpose, also that M^r Hicks shall take to the House occupied by W^m Beard upon paying to the Company the value of the materials thereupon the House to be given up to M^ Hicks as soon as the Company can provide another for Will^m Beard, and untill that period to pay a fair rent for the same.
Ordered that Sam^l Keene of Hampton be employed to measure the Island correctly and that M^r Clark be desired to prepare a Deed by way of feofment for the conveyance thereof and as soon as the same is prepared and Executed that the purchase money be paid to M^r Hicks.. Ordered likewise Ew^d Keene and Will^m Beard be employed to value the Materials of the House in the occupation of Will^m Beard and that the amount thereof be deducted from the purchase money to be paid to M^r Hicks.
Our Clerk reported that he had offered the sale of the Ketch to Messr^s Mules and Barnard agreeable to the order of the last Meeting for 500 Guineas but they declined giving that sum and offered £500 which offer he communicated to five of the Committee who authorised him to accept it, and the sale was in consequence compleated and the money paid.
Received a proposal from Sam^l Bird of Brimscombe for building a new Barge for the Committee. Ordered that he be desired to attend the next Meeting.
Received a proposal from the Committee of the Thames and Severn Canal offering to pay us the sum of £15 towards making a Culvert to take the Badbrook water under their Canalbut they are not at present disposed to join in making the said Culvert, deferred the consideration of this proposal to the next meeting.
Adjourned this Meeting to Tuesday the 24^th day of February next at 3 o'Clock in the Afternoon at the Committee room at Walbridge
