Summary

Robert Wainwright and William Blackburne claimed shares nos.13,14,15,52,53,54,55,56,77,78, will of Hannah Lindsey.
No vessel is to be allowed to leave the canal without producing the proper pass tickets from the Thames & Severn Canal to the Stroud Navigation and that notice has been given our servants. Clerk is to give notice to the barge owners of this resolution.
The navigation of the canal being obstructed in various places, Thomas Carruthers is requested to make enquiry at Bristol for a vessel on which to erect a steam engine for the purpose of removing the mud and also what the possible expense would be for both vessel and machine.
A letter is to be written to Mr Richard Miller to explain why he should not be fined for a false return in his account of tonnage under the dates of 22 and 27 of January.
Owner Yates attended and paid the mitigated fine of £4 the committee inflicted on him for evading the tonnage dues.
The Company having lost several deal planks and, Sam Banks being suspected of having stolen them, ordered that a warrant be taken out against him.
In consequence of the multiplicity of business to be gone through, the next committee meeting is to commence at 12 o'clock at Wallbridge.
In consequence of the ability and perseverance of Thomas Beard in the discharge of his duty, from next Saturday his wages be fixed at one guinea per week.
George Wathen has laid a writ against owner Thomas Moody, and is taking steps to obtain the fine.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 18^th of Feb^y 1812
Present: James Tyers, Tho^s Holbrow, Henry Eycott, Tho^s Carruthers, Jos^h Grazebrook, Nath^l Jones, Rowles Scudamore, Will^m Stanton, Alexander Townsend.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order of the last Meeting.
M^r J Grazebrook attended on behalf of Robert Wainwright of the Chancery Office London Esq^r and William Blackburne of the said City of London Doctor of Physic Executors of the last Will and Testament of Hannah Lindsey late of Essex House of the City of London aforesaid, and made out their Claims to Ten shares in the Stroudwater Navigation N^o 13, 14, 15, 52, 53, 53, 55, 56, 77, 78 standing in the name of the said Hannah Lindsey by producing the Probate of Her Will bearing date the 14^th day of September 1811 and duly proved in the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury the 31^st day of January 1812, Whereby it appears that the said Robert Wainwright one of the Executors and the said William Blackburne (Brother of the deceased) the other Executor and Residuary Legatee, and are thereby entitled to the said Ten Shares and their Claims is hereby admitted.
Ordered that no Vessel be allowed to leave the Canal without producing the proper pass Ticketts from the Thames & Severn Canal to the Stroud Navigation according to Act of Parliament, and that notice has been given our Servants accordingly. Our Clerk is also desired to give notice to the Barge Owners of this Resolution. ~~~ The Navigation of the Canal being obstructed in various Places M^r Carruthers be requested to make enquiry of Bristol for a Vessel in which to erect a Steam Engine for the purpose of removing the mud, in those places where it has collected, and also what the probable Expence of both the Vessel and Machine will be.
It is ordered that a Letter be written to M^r Ric^d Miller to desire he will shew cause why he should not be fined for a false return in his account of Tonnage under the Dates the 22^nd & 27^th Jan^y last.
Owner Yates having attended and paid down the mitigated fine of Four Pounds to the Committee inflicted on him for evaveding the Tonnage dues,
Ordered that our Clerk do give him a receipt for the same and that it be passed into the Treasurers account in Conformity.
The Company having lost several Deal Plansk and Sam^l Banksberry suspected of having stolen them, Ordered that a Warrant be taken out against the said Sam^; Banks in order to bring him to condigh Punishment. Ordered that in consequence of the multiplicity of business to be gone through, the next Committee Meeting be appointed at 12 o'Clock in the forenoon of the 13^th April next at the Committee room at Walbridge.
In consequence of the assiduity and perseverance of Tho^s Beard in the discharge of his duty and particularly in the Situation to which he was lately appointed it is Ordered that from and after Saturday the 22^nd Jan^y his Wages be fixed at One Guinea per Week, that he may thereby be induced to pursue his orders and fully accomplish the ends and purpose of his trust.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the thirteenth of April next at 12 o'Clock in the forenoon at the Committee Room at Walbridge.
Our Clerk reported that M^r Geo Wathen has (?) a Wri'tt against Owner Tho^s Moody agreeably with the Order of our last Meeting, but that hs is now pursueing Steps to obtain the fine levied against him.
