Summary

Thomas Coney and Rev William Coney claimed shares nos.168,169,170, will of Bicknell Coney.
Mr Carruthers having made enquiry respecting the engine at Bristol for clearing the mud, has ascertained that the operation of it is uncertain and the expense of its construction too great for our purpose.
Owner Thomas Moody being in prison and considered not in a state to pay the remainder of a fine levied on him for a defraud of tonnage, George Wathen is requested to suspend all proceedings when the writ has expired.
Samuel Banks having been tried at Gloucester for stealing the Company planks and acquitted, the clerk is to pay Mr Wathen’s bill.
It appearing that the fine of £4 levied on owner Yates was in consequence of an error betwixt him and Bernard Hole, the clerk is to repay the £4.
John Rose applied for an advance of wages and was granted 2s per week advance bringing him to 16s per week.
Browning & Son offered their services as bricklayers and carpenters to the Company for the ensuing year they are engaged at 21s per week and the house rent free at one of the cottages at Dudbridge.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Monday the 13^th of April 1812
Present: Sir Sam^l Wathen, Nath^l Jones, Henry Eycott, Tho^s Carruthers, Jos^h Grazebrook, Will^m Stanton, Rowles Scudamore.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Orders of the last Meeting.
M^r Jos^h Grazebrook attended on behalf of the Rev^d Tho^s Coney of Batcombe in the County of Somerset, and the Rev^d Will^m Conety of ........ the Sons and Executors of the late Bicknell Coney of the City of London Esq^r deceased and made out their Claims to three Shares in the Stroudwater Navigation N^o 168, 169, 170 by producing the Probate of the Will of the said Bicknell Coney bearing date the 3^rd of Jan^y 1811 and duly proved in the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury the 16^th Jan^y 1812, whereby the said Tho^s Coney and W^m Coney are Executors and the residuary Legatees and their Claim is hereby admitted.
M^r Carruthers having made enquiry respecting the Engine at Bristol for clearing the mud out of the Locks there, it appears from the best information he could obtain that the operation of it is uncertain, and the expence of its construction too great for our purpose.
It appearing that Owner Tho^s Moody being in Prison and considered not in a state to pay the remainder of a fine levied on him by the Company for defraud of Tonnage, Our Clerk is desired to call on M^r Wathen the Solcitor and to request him to suspend all proceedings when the Writ shall have expired.
Samuel Banks having been tried at Glos^r for stealing the Companys Planks and acquitted our Clerk is directed to pay M^r Wathens bill for conducting the prosecution.
It appearing that the fine of £4 levied on Owner Yates was in consequence of an error betwixt him and our Clerk Bernard Hole. Our Clerk here is desired to repay the said Sum of £4 to Owner Yates.

Browning having offered himself and Son as Bricklayers and Carpenters to the Company of Proprietors for the ensuing year they are engaged at 21^s/ per Week and the House Rent free at one of the Cottages at Dudbridge.
Ordered that a Bill be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Two Hundred, ninety four Pounds, five Shilling & two pence for the use of the Navigation.
