Summary

General Half Yearly Meeting. Tonnage £2370 0s 6d. Balance after wages, etc, £1699 12s 4d. Dividend of £8 declared.
Mr Lewis having proposed to land his coals at his premises without taking them to Brimscombe if allowed same tonnage rate at through to Brimscombe, the Clerk to inform Mr Lewis that the Company was not willing to accede to the request.

At a General Half Yearly meeting of the Prorpietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 9^th Day of April 1816
William Stanton Esq^r in the Chair.
The minutes of the last General Meeting were read and confirmed. The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the Affairs of the Company as directed by Act of Parliament, examined and confirmed.
It Appears by the Accounts that the Sum of _£2370..0..6_ has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 10^th Day of October last to this day; a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages, Disbursements, etc, and that there remains in the Treasurers hands after paying the last Dividend and the Sum of £112..0..6 for the Property Tax, the Sum of _£1699..12..4_.
Ordered that a Dividend of _£8..0..0_ each Share be paid by the Treasurer on the first Day of May next, and that our Clerk do transmit circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them that they may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to Him for payment of the Sam.e
M^r Lewis of Brimscombe having proposed to have his Coals, etc, from the Thames & Severn Canal on his Own premises without taking them to the Wharf at Brimscombe in case the Company of Proprietors of the Stroud Water navigation would wave part of the Toll which by Act of Parliament would be due for the same if landed at any place below the boundary at Brimscombe, the same being taken into consideration, Resolved that it does not appear expedient to accede to the request of M^r Lewis & that the Clerk be directed to inform him thereof.
The following Gentlemen are appointed a Committee for the following Year, Viz: M^r Eycott, M^r Scudamore, M^r Stanton, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Morgan, M^r Tho Holbrow, M^r Tyers, M^r John Holbrow, M^r N Jones, M^r Jos Jones, M^r Snowden, M^r Miller, M^r Carruthers.
