At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 15 day of April 1817.
The minutes of the last General Meeting were read and confirmed.
The several Books & accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company as directed by Act of Parliament examined and confirmed.
It Appears by the accounts the sum of £2734..2..10 has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 8^th day of October last to the 8^th Instant, a part of which had been applied towards the payment of wages, disbursments, etc, & that there remains in the Treasurers hands after paying the last dividend the Sum of £2234..8..9.
Order'd that a dividend of £10..-..- each Share be paid by the Treasurer on the 1^st day of May next, and that our Clerk do transmit circular Letters to all Proprietors to inform them that they may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to him for payment of the same.
The following Gentlemen are appointed a Committee for ensuing Year Viz: M^r Carruthers, M^r Eycott, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Tho Holbrow, M^r John Holbrow, M^r Nath^l Jones, Rev^d Jos^h Jones, M^r Morgan, M^r Scudamore, M^r Snowden, M^r Stanton, M^r Miller, M^r G Wathen.
The Proprietors of the Stroudwater Canal Navigation assembled at this meeting, convinced of the exertions of their Clerk M^r Hawker, and wishing to act as liberally as he has asked meritoriously have
Resolved that the Salary of their Clerk M^r George Hawker be increased by the Sum of Forty Pounds, making it altogether £160 per Annum.
