At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 17^th day of April 1821
Present: D^r Darke, M^r Wathen, M^r Holbrow, M^r Townsend, M^r Jones, M^r Stanton, M^r Morgan, M^r Snowden, Rev M^r James, M^r Eycott.
Read the minutes of the last Meeting.
Examined the Books & Accounts of the Company.
M^r Peter Veel atttended on behalf of himself, Anna Veel, The Rev^d Tho Veel, Clerk, and The Rev Rich^d Huntley, Clerk, the Executors of the last will and testament of William Veel late of Alkerton house in the parish of Eastington in the Count of Gloucester Esquire deceased and made out their Claim to five Shares nos 131. 129, 1, 128 and 155 in the Stroudwater Navigation the property of the said Wiliam Veel deceased bearing date the 9^th day of May 1820 and duly proved in the Prerogative Court of the archbishop of Canterbury on the 7^th day of February 1821. Whereby it appears that the said Peter Veel, Anna Veel, The Reverend Thomas Veel and the Reverend Richard Huntley are the Executors thereof and their Claim is hereby admitted.
M^r Peter Veel attended on Behalf of his Sister Anna Veel Spinster who has made out her Claim to one Share N^o 130 of the Stroudwater Navigation by producing the Probate of the last will and testament of her late Father William Veel of Alkerton house in the Parish of Eastington in the County of Gloucester Esquire deceased bearing date the 9^rh of May 1829 and duly proved in the Prerogative Court of the Arch Bishop of Canterbury the 7^th day of February 1821 whereby it appears that the said Share is bequeathed to the said Anna Veel and her Claim is hereby admitted.
M^r Nathaniel Jones of Stratford in the parish of Stroud in the County of Gloucester appeared and claimed three Shares nos 50, 57 & 58 in the Stroud water Navigation as the administrator of the late Reverend Joseph Jones deceased and produced Letters of Administration granted to himself from the Prerogative Court of Canterbury dated 2 July 1819 and his Claim is hereby admitted.
Ordered that an agreement be entered into with Geo Basham for Mudding the Canal at the price & under the Conditions submitted by him in his estimate.
