Summary

Half Yearly General Meeting. Tonnage £3600 14s 4d. Balance after wages, etc, £2531 6s 0d. Dividend of £12 10s declared.
The salary of George Hawker, clerk of the canal navigation, to be raised to the sum of £200 per annum as a consideration for his long and faithful services.
The salary of William Purcell, clerk of the canal navigation, be raised to the sum of £80.

At a General half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn Stroud on Wednesday the 18^th October 1821

The minutes of the last General Meeting were read & confirmed.
The several Books & accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by Act of Paliament0 were examined & confirmed.
It appears by the accounts that the sum of £3600,,14,,4 has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 15 day of October last to the 13^th Instant, a part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages disbursements, etc, and that there remains in the Treasurers hands after paying the last dividend the Sum of £2531..6..0.
Ordered that a dividend of £12..10..- be paid on each Share by the Treasurer on the 1^st day of May next & that Our Clerk do transmit circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them that they may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to him for payment of the same.
The following Gentlemen are appointed a Committee for the ensuing year:
W W Darke MD, M^r Fisher, M^r Eycott, S Snowden MD, M^r Snowden, Rev W James, M^r G Wathen, M^r W S Wilson, M^r Nath^l Jones, M^r Tho Holbrow, M^r Townsend, M^r Jn^o Morgan. M^r Stanton.
Ordered That the Salary of M^r George Hawker, the Clerk of the Canal Navigation be raised to the Sum of Two hundred Pounds per Annum, as a Consideration for his long and faithful Services.
Ordered that the Salary of William Purcesll the Clerk of the Canal Navigation be raised to the Sum of Eighty Pounds.
