The wharf at Stonehouse Cross to be drained and the road repaired.
Memorandum of Agreement signed by Mr Price about the use of the road that crossed the towing path of the Stroudwater Canal at the stone bridge at Dudbridge to his foundry. He agreed that he used it at the Company’s discretion. 1s per annum to be paid.
The small piece of land at the top of five locks, and also the small piece of land near the bridge at Eastington, belonging to the Company are to be fenced in.
Clerk to employ someone to level the soil at Dudbridge.
Clerk to inspect the place where Mr Cowles imagines the lowness of the canal banks have occasioned him an injury.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 10^th day of January 1822
Present: M^r Holbrow, M^r Wathen, M^r Jones, M^r Stanton, D^r Darke, M^r Snowden.
Examined the Books & Accounts of the Company.
Ordered that the Wharf at Stonehouse Cross be drained & the Road repaired.
A Memorandum of an agreement signed by M^r Price respecting the Road used by him from the Stonebridge at Dudbridge to his Foundry, in the words following "I Will^m Price hereby acknowledge that the use of the Road which I exercise & use form the Stone Bridge to my Foundry & premises near there (& which Road leads over the Towing Path belonging to the Stroudwater Navigation Company) is used & exercised by me at the Companys permission only, & with their leave & licences; & not as a matter of right in me. And I agree to relinquish such road at any time on receiving notice from the said Company of Proprietors or their Clerk, and in the meantime I agree to pay the said Company of Proprietors the annual Sum of One Shilling on the first day of January in every Year if demanded for the use of such Road. Witness my hand the 10^th day of January 1822. William Price"
Witness Tho Crome" was produced and approved & ordered to be entered among the proceedings of the Company.
Ordered that the small piece of Land at the top of the five Locks and also the small piece of Land near the Bridge at Eastington belonging to the Company be properly fenced in.
Ordered that our Clerk do employ some competent Person to level the soil at Dudbridge Wharf & do pay such remuneration for the same as shall He shall deem the Person so employed entitled to.
Ordered that our Clerk go down the Canal to the plece where M^r Cowles imagines the lowness of the Canal banks have occasioned him an injury in order to inspect the same and ascertain the circumstance.
