Letter from Harris, Stephens & Co about the road across the canal at Ryeford needing to be altered not agreed with, considering that the road across the canal at the Ryeford has lately been improved at a considerable expense for the public.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge On Tuesday the 15^th Day of June 1824
Present: M^r Jones, M^r Fisher, M^r Grazebrook, M^r Wathen, D^r Darke.
Examined the Books & accounts of the Company.
A Letter from Mess^rs Harris, Stephens & Co on the subject of the Road across the Canal, etc, at Ryeford, & requiring the same to be altered, having been laid before the Committee, Ordered that our Clerk do return the following answer to them:
"Gent^n
Having laid your Letter of the 8^th (?) before the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation, I am instructed to acquaint you that the Committee do not see it necessary to take any steps in reference to the subject of that Letter, considering that the road across the Canal at the Ryeford has lately been improved at a considerable expence for the Public."
