Summary

Half Yearly General Meeting. Tonnage £2480 8s 4d. Balance after wages, etc, £1608 17s 11d. Dividend of £8 declared.
From, 1 November the rate of tonnage be raised upon all goods wares and merchandize (except coal) to 3s 6d a ton, and so proportionately for any less quantity or less distance, except on the following articles: corn flour, timber, bricks, sand and stone (except road stone and gravel) for which a rate of 2s 6d per ton to be charged.
The tonnage on road stone and gravel is to be 3d per ton at the Junction of the G&B Canal; 6d per ton at the Bristol Road Wharf and Eastington; 8d per ton at Ryeford and Stonehouse wharfs 10d per ton at Ebley and Dudbridge; and 1s per ton at Wallbridge Wharf.
From 24 October all coals and goods whatsoever landed upon any wharf which shall remain there more than twenty four hours will be charged at 3d per ton. Any coals and other goods remaining on any wharf for more than two months, shall pay an additional sum of 2d per ton for each and every month.

At a General half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn Stroud on Thursday the 23^rd day of October 1828

The minutes of the last General Meeting were read and confirmed.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by Act of Parliament) and were examined and confirmed.
It appears by the Accounts that the sum of £2480..8..4 has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 15^th day of April to the 15^th day of October 1828 a part of which has been applied towards the payment of wages disbursments, etc, and that there remains in the Treasurers hands (after paying the last dividend) the sum of £1608..17..1.
Ordered that a dividend of Eight Pounds be paid on each Share by the Treasurer on the first day of November next, and that our Clerk do transmit circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them that they may draw upon the Treasurer or apply to him for payment of the same.
Ordered That as from and after the first day of November next The Rate of Tonnage be raised upon all Goods Wares and Merchandize (Except Coals) which shall be carried or conveyed in any Boat or Barge upon the Stroudwater Navigation.
And that on and from that day there be charged for the same after the rate of Three Shillings and Sixpence for each and every Ton, and so proportionably for any less quantity, upon the whole line of the said Navigation, and so proportionably for any less distance, Save and except on the following Articles, viz: Corn, Flour, Timber, Bricks, Sand and Stone (except Roadstone and Gravel). And that the Rate of Tonnage of (?) for Corn, Flour, Timber, Bricks, Sand and Stone (except Roadstone and Gravel) after the Rate of Two shillings and Sixpence per Ton on the whole line of the Navigtion and so proportionably for any less quantity of any less distance.
Ordered that the Rate of tonnage on Roadstone and Gravel, be charged from the day aforesaid the Sum of Threepence per Ton at the Junction of the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal, the Sum of Sixpence per Ton at the Bristol Road Wharf, the Sum of Sixpence per Ton at Eastington, the Sum of Eight pence per ton at Reyford and Stonehouse Wharfs, the sum of Ten pence per ton at Ebley and Dudbridge; and the Sum of one Shilling per ton at Walbridge Wharf, and so proportionably for any less or greater quantity.
Ordered that on from and after the twenty fourth day of October instant, there be charged on all Coals and Goods whatsoever landed upon any wharf belonging to the Company of Proprietors of the said Navigation, and which shall remain thereon more that twenty four Hours, the Sum of Three pence per ton and so proportionably for any less quantity; And also for all such Coals and other Goods as shall remain on any such Wharf for more than two months - the further and additional sum of two pence per Ton for each and every month and so proportionably for any part of a month, which the same shall remain on any such Wharf from and after the expiration of the first two months.
