At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Thursday the 27^th day of June 1867
Present: M^r T Marling, T M Croome Chairman, G H A Beard, W W Kearsey, S Phipps.
M^r W W Kearsey of Stroud in the County of Gloucester Solicitor attended on behalf of Sarah Renard of 292 Camberwell New Road Surrey Widow and John Russell Cole of N^o 1 Brunswick Villas Brunswick Terrace Camberwell Builder Executrix and Executor under the Will of the late Samuel Renard of 292 Camberwell New Road Surrey Gentleman deceased and made out the Claim of the said Sarah Renard and John Russell Cole to 1 Share numbered 4 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation lately belonging to and now standing in the name of the aid Sam^; Renard deceased in the books of the said Company of Proprietors by producing the Probate of the Will of the said Sam^l Renard deceased bearing date the 25^th day of September 1865 and proved in the Principal Registry of her Majesty's Court of Probate by the said Executrix & Executor on the 20^th day of May 1867 and also be producing the original Ticket or Title to the said Share and the Claim was admitted accordingly and a new Ticket ordered to be made out.
The purchase of timber sanctioned by several individual Members of the Committee was sanctioned.
M^r Gorton having given Notice to quit the premised now rented by him at Downfield on the 19^th September next it was arranged to let the same to M^r Cos the Tenant of the other part of the property upon certain terms of which a note was made.
Ordered that a new foot Bridge be made and put up at Ryeford.
Ordered that C Critchley be appointed Wharfinger at Stonehouse Wharf and that Henry Lewis be appointed Wharfinger at Ryeford Wharf at a Salary at the rate of £1..-..- per annum, these appointment to be during the pleasure of the Committee.
Ordered that the Canal Inspection do take place on Saturday the 27^th July, the Boat to start from Wallbridge at 9 o'clock.
