Summary

Mr G H Beard and Mr J. Howard claimed share no.143, will of Mr Charles Hooper.
Mr Warman’s claim was sanctioned and a payment made of £42 3s 8d.
A fence to be put up at the Gas Works Bridge across the small strip of land belonging to the Company at the north east end of the bridge to prevent a road being used along it at the lower end of Mr Taylor’s property.
Gypsum be charged at the same rate as road stone and that the manure manufactured from it be charged at the same rate. Mr Holmes to be allowed a drawback on the last cargo brought up for him of 3d per ton.
Captain C H Fisher, Mr J C Halliwell and Mr Kearsey be a committee for the purpose of initiating a better system of account and be empowered to make any necessary payment for the purpose.
Notice to quit to Mr Critchley from Stonehouse Wharf and premises to be withdrawn and he be allowed to bring and sell coal from the Canal Wharf brought by railway. He to pay 4d per ton for all such coal. Mr Critchley also to have permission to put a weighing machine on the Wharf at his own expense, the Company to have the option of taking it at a valuation at the end of his tenancy or otherwise that he have the privilege of removing it. The weighbridge to be placed and put up to the satisfaction of the surveyor. The condition of the above arrangement is that Mr Critchley shall not sell any coal not brought first upon the Stonehouse Canal Wharf.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 17^th day of April 1879
Present: M^r S Phipps, M^r T M Croome Chairman, J C Hallewell, T Marling, C Hawkins Fisher, G H A Beard, W W Kearsey, J T Fisher.
The various Accounts Books and Vouchers signed by M^r W Coley the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced examined and passed.
The Treasurers book was produced examined and signed.
M^r G H A Beard of Merretts Mill near Stonehouse in the County of Gloucester Gentleman and M^R J Howard of Wallbridge in the aforesaid County Manufacturer executors under the Will of M^r Charles Hooper of Eastington House in the County of Gloucester deceased attended and made out their Claim to one Share numbered 143 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation, and now standing in the name of the said C Hooper deceased in the books of the said Company of Proprietors by producing the probate of the Will of the said C Hooper deceased bearing date the 24^th day of October 1868 and proved in the District Registry of her Majesty's Court of Probate at Gloucester on the 2^d day of November 1869 and also producing the Ticket or Title of the said Share and the Claim was admitted accordingly & a new Ticket ordered to be made out.
M^r Coome having given a Cheque on behalf of the Company for M^r Warman's Claim of £42..3..8 the payment was sanctioned.
Resolved that a fence be put up at the Gas Works Bridge across the small strip of land belonging to this Company at the North East end of the Bridge to prevent a road being used along it at the lower end of M^r Taylors property.
Resolved that in future Gypsum be charged the same as Road Stone. & that the manure manufactured from it be charged at the same rate, and it was also Resolved that M^r Holmes be allowed a drawback on the last cargo brought up for him of 3^d per Ton.
Resolved that Cap^n C H Fisher & M^r J C Hallewell be a Committee for the purpose of initiating a better system of account and be empowered to make any necessary payment for the purpose.
Resolved that the notice to M^r Critchley to quit Stonehouse Wharf & premises be considered as withdrawn & that he be allowed to bring on & sell from the Canal Wharf coal brought by Railway he paying 4^d per Ton for all such coal so brought provided that he verifies his account of the quantity of such coal to the satisfaction of the Committee & that M^r Critchley have permission to put a Weighing Machine on the Wharf at his own expense the Company to have the option of taking it at a valuation at the end of his tenancy or otherwise the he have the privilege of removing it. The Weighbridge to be placed & put up to the satisfaction of the Company's Surveyor.
The condition of the above arrangement is that M^r Critchley shall no sell any Coal not brought first upon the Stonehouse Canal Wharf.
