General Half Yearly Meeting. Tonnage since 1 April £1263 5s 9d. After wages, etc, profit £738 7s 5d. Dividend of £3 10s declared.
Last year's Committee re-elected. Elected Mr Beard as the permanent Chairman for the ensuing year.
At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 26^th day of April 1871

The Minutes of the Committee since the last General Assembly were read approved and confirmed.
The several books and Accounts were produced as directed by the Act of Parliament and were examined and passed.
It appears that the sum of £1265..5..9 has been received from the 1^st day of October to the 1^st day of April part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages disbursements, etc, and there remains in the hands of the Treasurer the sum of £738..7..5 after paying the last Dividend.
Ordered that a Dividend of £3..10..0 on each share be declared payable on the 1^st day of May next free of Income Tax.
Resolved that the Committee of last year be reelected.
It was proposed seconded & carried unanimously that M^ Beard be the permanent Chairman of the ensuing year.
