At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Thursday the 21^st day of December 1871
Present: M^r S Phipps, G H A Beard Chairman, F S Thornton, W W Kearsey, C H Fisher, T Marling.
M^r S Clayfield of Stroud in the County of Gloucester Solicitor attended on behalf of himself and of M^r T Parsons of the same place Executors under the Will of Richard Lacey of the above named place Gentleman deceased and made out their Claim to 4 Shares numbered respectively 18, 19, 123 and 124 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation and now standing in the name of the said R^d Lacey deceased in the books of the said Company of Proprietors by producing the Probate of the Will of the said R Lacey deceased bearing date the 27^th day of February 1869 and proved in the District Registry of her Majesty's Court of Probate at Gloucester on the 24^th day of November 1871 and also by producing the Tickets or Titles of the said Shares and the Claim was admitted accordingly and new Tickets ordered to be made out.
The attention of the Committee was called to the fact that sewage was at various places permitted to flow into the Canal.
Resolved that this be prevented and that as a first step the privies of the Company having an overflow to the Canal be put right.
