At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbrdige on Monday the 25^th day of March 1872
Present: M^r S Phipps, M^r G H A Beard Chairman, T Marling, J C Hallewell, J T Fisher, T M Croome, W W Kearsey.
Applications for the situation of Clerk (109 in number) were gone through and the following five* were selected as being most likely amongst the Candidates viz;
M^r A Glass, M^r Brackenbury, W J Snape, H Good, Jos^h Till, J Bourne.
M^r Brakenbury was seen and the Chairman was to write in the first instance to M^r Glass and M^r Snape and ask them to attend a further Meeting of the Committee to be held on Thursday the 4^th of April next at ½ past 12 and inform them that the expences of the journies of the Candidates not selected would be paid.
The General Half Yearly Meeting to be held on Thursday the 25^th day of April at 1 o'clock.
