Mr Kearsey produced certain clauses which were proposed by him and agreed to by the solicitors of the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co for insertion in the Bill of that Company now before Parliament for the protection of the interests of this navigation. Resolved that such clauses are approved and be accepted.
A minute was read from the Trustees of the Cainscross Commissioners relative to the alterations proposed at Eastington to form a new wharf adjoining the said Company’s canal works and the land lying between such canal and the Turnpike Road. The Company to pay a rent of 1s p.a.
Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Thursday the 19^th March 1874 at 12,o,clock (noon)
Present: G H A Beard Chairman, Mr W W Kearsey, Mr T Marling, Mr J T Fisher, Mr E C Little, Mr T M Croome, Mr C H Hooper, Mr S Phipps, Major Fisher.
[45] Ordered that the Half yearly meeting be held on Thursday the 23^rd day of April 1874, at 1,o,clock pm and the Committee Meeting on the same day at 12,o,clock (noon) and that the Clerk advertise the same.

[42] A Minute was read from the Trustees of the Cain's Cross Commissioners, relative to the alterations proposed at Eastington, the following of which is a copy (viz):

Minute of 25^th February 1874
Resolved that the Trustees or Commissioners of this Division of Roads give permission to the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation, in consideration of their making the necessary outlay, and the rent hereinafter mentioned to use all land required by them to (?) a proposed new wharf, adjoining the said Company's Canal woks and Land, and lying between such Canal and the Turnpike Road near Eastington Turnpike Gate, with retaining walls and free access at all times to the same for the whole length, and also to such new wharf at both end thereof as shown on plan now produced and signed by the Chairman of the Committee of the said Navigation and the Chairman of this meeting, and to do all the works accessary thereto, the said Company of Proprietors paying a rent of one shilling per annum for such permission and use on the 25^th day of March in each year; and this arrangement to be an annual tenancy determinable on the 25^th March in any year by half years notice in the ordinary manner.
The above minute was approved by the Committee subject to the following addition (viz) If the Tenancy should be determined all parties are to be remitted to their original rights as if the arrangement had not been made: a copy was ordered to be signed by the Chairman, and sent to the Road Commissioners with such additions attached thereto.
