Summary

The Stroud Board of Health agreed to rent a pen on Wallbridge Wharf.
Messrs Strachan & Co had put a pipe from their works at Lodgemore under the towing path to the canal to carry overflow water from a tank. The pipe allowed to remain on payment of 2s 6d pa.
Top gates of the Dudbridge two locks require repairs. A stoppage to be made on Wednesday and Thursday 28 and 29 September.
£50 worth of oak timber to be purchased.
Inspection of the canal to be on Thursday 29 September.
Clerk to write to Mr Taunton asking for a reply as to whether their Company desire the entire list of tonnages to be revised and placed in accordance with the Act of Parliament
A bill amounting to £4 12s 6d for wharfage on stone reduced to 1s per day instead of 2s 6d, thereby reducing the bill to £1 17s.
In the suit between this Company and the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway Company an overture had been made for the purchase of the Company’s judgement debt by Mr Spain. Company would not accept less than the full amount of their judgement debt and interest and such costs as they were entitled to.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Thursday the 21^st day of September 1876 at 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr J T Stanton, Mr W W Kearsey, Mr S Phipps, Major Fisher.
[33] The agreement between the Company and Mr T Clark of Chalford respecting the tenancy of the Cos premises at Eastington was produced signed and sealed by the Chairman, as per Resolution passed at the Committee Meeting held on the 20^th July last.
[30] The Clerk reported that he had not had any reply from the Stroud Gas Company respecting the charges for water. etc (see Resolution passed on the 18^th May 1876).
Resolved that he write to them asking for an answer to his letter of the 20^th July last.
[30] The Clerk produced a letter from Mr E Witchell the Clerk to the Stroud Local Board of Health, agreeing to rent a pen on Wallbridge Wharf agreeably to the terms of the Resolution passed on 15^th June last.
[30] The Clerk reported that Messrs Strachan & Co had put a pipe from their works at Lodgemore under the Towing path to the Canal to convey overflow water from a tank.
Ordered that he write to Mr Roberts stating that the pipe will be allowed to remain on the payment of 2.6 per annum.
[34] The Clerk reported that the top gates of the Dudbridge two locks required repairs.
Ordered that he have a Stoppage on Wednesday and Thursday the 28^th & 29^th inst.
[39] Ordered that the Clerk purchase £50 worth of oak timber.
[46] Ordered that the Chairman make an Inspection of the Canal on Thursday 29^th inst.
[37] Ordered that the Clerk write to Mr Taunton asking for a reply to that portion of the letter written to him on the 22^nd June last as to whether their Co desire the entire list of Tonnages to be revised and placed in accordance with the act of Parliament.
[44] A Bill amounting to £4..12..6 having been sent to Mr Peter Savage, Road Surveyor, Stonehouse, for Wharfage on Stone & which he considers overcharged,
The Clerk was directed to send him another bill charging 1/- per day instead of 2/6, thereby reducing the bill to £1..17..0.
[45] Mr Kearsey the Cos Solicitor attended the Meeting and fully explained the matter between this Co and the Stonehouse & Nailsworth Railway Co, the position of the suite which had been instituted by this Co to protect their Judgement Debt owing from the Railway Co, whom he was to proceed with the suit, and as an overture had been made for the purchase of the Cos Judgement Debt by Mr Spain one of the defendants to the suit, it was Resolved that this Co would not accept less than the full amount of their Judgement Debt and interests and such costs as they were entitled to.
