Summary

Chairman’s letter to the Company’s solicitor, instructing the withdrawal of the Company’s Petition against the Thames & Severn Canal Co’s Bill, agreed by Mr Croome, Mr Little, Mr Stanton and Mr Phipps, confirmed.
Henry Clark, captain of the barge Wherry Packet, be fined 10s for strapping the barge to the hand rail of the top gate at the Westfield Lock, Eastington.
Mr Croome to see Mr James Harper re his laying a drain from the Cainscross old National Schools into the Canal nearly opposite Dudbridge Wharf.
Owing to the non-payment by Messrs E Stephens & Co of their account, they shall in future pay their account monthly.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Thursday the 24^th day of April 1879 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr J T Stanton, Mr T Marling, Mr S Phipps, Mr T M Croome, Mr E C Littl.e.
The various accounts books and vouchers sighed by Mr F Sturge the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced and passed.
The Treasurer Book was produced examined and signed by the Chairman.
[52] A letter having been written by the Chairman on the 10th day of March 1879 to Mr Keasey the Cos Solicitor, instructing him to withdraw the Cos petition against the T&S Canal Cos Bill, agreeably with the wish of the following members of the Committee, viz Mr Croome, Mr Little, Mr Stanton and Mr Phipps. It is Resolved that the same is confirmed.
[18] H Fallows the Foreman reported that Henry Clark Capt of the Barge Wherry Packett did on the 31^st day of March last strap the barge to the hand rail of the Top Gate at the Westfield Lock, Eastington.
Ordered that he pay a fine of 10/-.
[7] The Clerk reported that Mr James Harper was laying a drain from the Cainscross old National Schools into the Canal nearly opposite the Dudbrige wharf.
A letter was also produced from Mr Harper respecting the same. Mr Croome promised to see him.

In consequence of the inconvenience sustained by the Co through the non payment of Messrs E Stephens & Cos a/c when due, Resolved that they should be requested for the future to pay their a/c monthly, and the Clerk is instructed accordingly.
