Summary

The wall dividing the Company’s property from Mr Biddell’s at Wallbridge being dangerous it was to be rebuilt.
Company to hire the steam dredger from the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co, and Mr Marling make the necessary arrangements with Mr Clegram.
Clerk to write to Mr Taunton on the subject of Division of Tonnage with this Company and the Thames & Severn Canal Co. From the 1853 Agreement it is clear that the point at which the equal division of the tolls ceased is Brimscombe Wharf and the word “Brimscombe” used in the Resolution had reference to that wharf and to no other spot. The fact that the Clerk of this Company has received tickets where coal conveyed to a point short of Brimscombe wharf has been stated as consigned to “Brimscombe” has led to the overlooking till recently of any error which has taken place.
Messrs Pooley & Sons estimate of £27 accepted and the new Weigh Bridge put on Eastington Canal Wharf.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Thursday the 17^th day of July 1879 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr T M Croome, Mr J T Fisher, Mr C H Hooper, Mr T Marling, Mr S Phipps, Mr J T Stanton.
[29] The Clerk reported that the wall dividing the Companys property from Mr Biddells at Wallbridge was in a dangerous state and required rebuilding.
Ordered that the same be done.
[53] The Clerk stated that he had received a letter from Mr Clegram. Engineer to the G&B Canal Co stating that his Co were willing to hire their Steam dredger to this Co.
Resolved that this C^o hire the same, and that Mr Marling be requested to make the necessary arrangements with Mr Clegram.
Division of Tonnages with this Company and the T&S Canal C^o.
[53] The following Resolution was passed respecting the above, "viz":
A correspondence was read between the Clerk and Mr Taunton relative to the division of tonnage charged on Coal taken to places near Brimscombe but short of Brimscombe wharf, and the agreement between the two Companys of the 26^th October 1853 and a resolution of the 26^th April 1864 was referred to. From the former it appears clear that the point at which the equal division of tolls ceased is Brimscomve wharf and that the word "Brimscombe" used in the resolution had reference to that wharf and to no other spot. And all the Committee present were clear that if there had been any departure from this understanding on their part it has been without their knowledge or assent as in all communications with the T&S Canal Co on this subject the term "Brimscombe" has had reference to the point indicated in the above mentioned agreements.
The fact that tickets have been furnished to the Clerk of this Company in which coal conveyed to a point short of Brimscombe wharf has been stated as consigned to "Brimscombe" has led to the overlooking until recently of any error which has taken place.
And it was Resolved that this understanding of the Committee be communicated to Mr Taunton by the Clerk.
[44] The Clerk produced an Estimate from Messrs Pooley and Son for a New Weigh Bridge for Eastington Canal wharf amounting to £27.
Ordered that the same be got and put on the above named wharf.
