Summary

Chairman to convey to the family the Committee’s sense of loss in being thus deprived of the valuable services of their solicitor, Mr Kearsey, who died this morning.
Canal Association to be paid an annual subscription of £3 3s on the assumption that the Company incur no liability beyond this description. Also that Mr Croome and Major Fisher attend the next meeting of the Association at the Westminster Palace Hotel.
Swing Bridges to be painted; also a stoppage of the Canal in July next at Blunder Lock to put in a new pair of Bottom Gates, and that the new fence be erected from the Wharfinger’s house to The Ship Inn, Wallbridge.

Committee Meeting held on Thursday the 20^th of May 1880 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr C H Hooper, Major Fisher, Mr T M Croome, Mr J Howard, Mr E C Little, Mr S Phipps, Mr J T Stanton.
It was proposed, seconded and carried unanimously that Mr G H A Beard be the Chairman for the ensuing year.
[53] The Committee having heard with regret of the death this morning of their Solicitor Mr Kearsey, desire to record their sense of the loss they have sustained in being thus deprived of his valuable services, and to express their sincere sympathy with his Family under this bereavement.
[36] Resolved that an annual subscription of £3..3..0 be given to the Canal association on the assumption that the Company incur no liability beyond this subscription, and that Mr Croome and Major Fisher do attend the next Meeting of the association at the Westminster Palace Hotel as a deputation from this Company.
[4] Ordered that all the Swing Bridges be painted, also [34] a Stoppage of the Canal in July next at Blunder Lock to put in a New pair of Bottom gates, also that a new fence be erected from the Wharfingers House to the Ship Inn, Wallbridge.
