Annual survey of the canal take place on Thursday 25 August, by Messrs Beard, Mills, Gyde, Hooper and Major Fisher, by boat from Wallbridge Wharf.
Clerk to ask for all the Company’s papers to be returned from Messrs Kearsey and Parsons.
Clerk to write to the Stroud Gas Light & Coke Company stating that, because of the altered circumstances of the two companies and the diminution of trade with the Canal company, the statutory charge of £5 per mile will be charged for the their gas piping laid in the Towing Path.

Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr H H Mills, Mr C H Hooper, Mr W H Marling, Mr T M Croome, Mr E C Little, Major Fisher, Mr J T Stanton.
[46] Ordered that the annual Survey of the Canal be made on Thursday the 25^th day of August 1881.
The boat to start from Wallbridge Wharf at 9.o.clock am. The following Gentlemen have promised to attend, "viz": Mr Beard, Major Fisher, Mr Mills, Mr Gyde and Mr Hooper,
[34] Resolved that the Clerk be instructed to ask Messrs Kearsey & Parsons to send him all the various papers and documents relating to the Company's business.
[36] The question of a further charge for the gas piping laid in the Company's Towing path by the Stroud Gas Light & Coke Company was discussed.
Resolved that the statutory charges of £5 per mile (and so on in proportion for a quarter or less distance than a mile) be now made in respect of the whole length laid down (this rent to be charged in respect of the new length of pipe as from Midsummer last and in respect to the rest as from Michailmas next) and that the Clerk be instructed to write to the Gas Company, and state that this step is taken in consequence of the altered circumstances of the two Co's and the diminuation of trade with the Canal Company.
