Committee accept with sincere regret Mr Beard’s resignation of the Chairmanship.
Members of the Committee expressed their sincere regret at the decease of Mr T M Croome. Clerk to convey to Mr Croome’s family their condolence on the loss of one so universally respected and beloved.
Mr T H Pearce, barge owner, having been refused permission from the Thames & Severn Canal Co to continue unloading stone on the Lower Lock Side as he has done for many years, given permission to land stone on Wallbridge Wharf on the payment of £1 for one year’s wharfage to be paid in advance, in order to keep the trade in stone up the T&S Canal and places on the Thames.
Thames & Severn Canal: The report by Messrs Clegram, Marten and Snape as a result of the resolution passed at the meeting held in Gloucester on the 24 November 1882 was read to the Committee.
Clerk reported that sewerage and other matters flowed into the canal from a closet, piggeries and stable in the occupation of Mr Henry Lewis, coal merchant, etc, at Ryeford Wharf. Clerk to write to him and request that the same be discontinued at once.
Clerk reported that the culvert under the Canal at Saul has been thoroughly cleaned out.

Proposed by Mr Marling and seconded by Mr Little:
[52] That this Committee accept with sincere regret Mr Beard's resignation of the Chairmanship, and desire to record their high sense of the diligence, efficiency and courtesy with which he has for many years discharged his duties. Carried unanimously.

That the Members of the Committee present at this Meeting cannot separate without expressing their sincere regret at the decease of their colleague Mr T M Croome and without recording as well the high sense of the great and valued service he for so long a time rendered to this Company, as also their appreciation of his estimable and noble character.
The Clerk was instructed to convey to the Family of their valued colleague a copy of this Minute with the expression of their condolence on the loss of one so universally respected and beloved.
[44] Mr T H Pearce, Barge owner, etc, applied for permission to land stone on Wallbridge wharf as the Thames and Severn Canal Company had refused to allow him to continue unloading stone on the Lower Lock Side as he had done for many years past, and also told him that they could not find him room on the Upper wharf.
Resolved that with a view to keeping the trade in stone up the Thames and Severn Canal and to places on the River Thames, that permission be granted to Mr Pearce to land Stone on Wallbridge wharf on payment of £1 for wharfage, being 1 years charges (to be paid in advance) to the 25^th December 1883.

[54] Thames and Severn Canal.
The Report made respecting the above named Canal by Messrs Clegram, Marten and Snape in compliance with Resolutions passed at a Meeting held at the Canal office Gloucester on the 24^th day of November 1882 was read to the Committee,
