Proceedings of the meeting of the Associated Canals and Navigations held at Gloucester Canal office on the 8 March read.
Mr H H Mills appointed Solicitor to the Company on the same terms as the late Mr Croome held the position.
Company’s Seal was affixed to a demise of the house and stable at Stonehouse Wharf taken by Mr Charles Critchley.
Clerk reported that Mr James Thomas had paid the £1 fine for running into the gates at Whitminster Lock on the 9 February.
Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 20^th day of March 1883 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr J T Stanton Chairman, Mr H H Mills, Mr W H Marling, Mr G H A Beard, Mr C H Hooper.
[45] Ordered that the next Committee Meeting be held on Tuesday the 24^th day of April next at 3.o.clock pm and the General Half yearly Meeting @ 4,o,clock on the same day.
[52 and 57] Mr Marling and Mr Mills stated that they had attended the Meeting of the associated Canals and Navigations held at Gloucester Canal office on the 8^th day of March 1883, as requested at a Committee Meeting held on the 20^th day of February last. A copy of the proceedings was placed in the hands of the Chairman who read the same to the Committee.
Mr Mills and Mr Marling were requested to attend (as representing this Company) any Meeting or Meetings of the Allied Navigations.
[34] In consequence of the lamented death of Mr T M Croome, the office of Solicitor having become vacant, It was unanimously resolved that Mr H H Mills be appointed as Solicitor to the Company on the same terms the late Mr Croome held that position.
[33] The Companys Seal was ordered to be affixed to a demise of the House & Stable at Stonehouse wharf, taken by Mr Charles Critchley.
The same was accordingly done.
[18] The Clerk reported that James Thomas had paid the fine of £1 imposed for running into the Gates at Whitminster Lock on the 9^th Feby last. "See Minutes F 370."
