At a General Half-yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 24^th day of April 1883 @ 4,o,clock pm
Mr G H A Beard Chairman.
[1] The Minutes of the Committee since the last General Meeting were approved and confirmed,
It appears that the sum of £1312..2..8 has been received from the 1^st day of October 1882 to the 1^st day of April 1883, and a balance brought forward of £204..8..2 from last Half-year (after payment of Dividend) making a total of £1516..10..10 of which sum £1058..7..4 has been applied towards the payment of wages, disbursements, etc, (including the sum of £157..10..8 tonnage on Coal paid to the Thames & Severn Canal Co) and there remains in the hands of the Treasurer the sum of £458..3..6 available for Dividend.
Ordered that a Dividend of £2..0..0 on each share be declared payable on the 1^st day of May next free of Income tax, carrying forward a balance of £58..3..6 to the next Half-years account,
The sum of £223,,0,,6 in the Treasurers hands stands to the Credit of the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Railway Company's Judgement Debt a/c being £220..0..6 Balance in Bank on 24^th day of June 1882 and £3 1/2 years interest to the 25^th day of December 1882.
[9] Resolved that the following Gentlemen form the Committee of the year next following or until another Committee be appointed:
Mr G H A Beard, Mr E C Little, Mr C H Hooper, Mr E F Gyde, Mr W H Marling, Major Fisher, Mr J T Stanton, Mr W Davies, Mr H H Mills, Mr A J M Ball, Mr J Howard.
