Mary 3^rd 1894
D^r Sir,
At a Meeting of the Allied Navigations held this day I reported that I had forwarded a copy of the resolutions passed at their Meeting on the 23^rd February, both to the Board of Trade and to your Company, and correspondence which had passed between the Board of Trade & your Company was also read, and with reference to you letter of the 23^rd February to the Board of Trade in which you state "that as negotiations with the neighbouring Navigations ae not sufficiently advanced to enable a definite statement to be presented" the Allied Navigations are of opinion that their resolution stating "that they would endeavour to concert means for the restoration & maintenance of this Canal if the Canal can promptly be handed over to them free of Cost", calls for a reply from your Company as until such a reply is received no action on their part is possible. Will you therefore be good enough at an early date if possible, within a fortnight, state whether your Company is prepared to negociate on this basis.
Yours truly
Hubert Waddy
Secretary
H Mahon Esq
Thames & Severn Canal Co
Paddington.
