Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 16^th day of November 1897 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Mr Edward P Little Chairman, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr W Davies, Mr S S Marling, Mr W J Stanton, Mr A B Hooper, Mr H Hamilton Mills.
A letter dated the 29^th inst from Mr Henry Waddy General Manager of the Sharpness Docks C^o with reference to this Company's complaint as to the detention of traffic in the Bristol Road Pound in consequence of the water being drawn off at Sharpness, and a letter dated the 10^th inst form Mr C H Hooper to Mr Mills giving the views of the former on the matter were read and after discussion it was resolved that the Clerk should arrange to meet Mr Jones the Engineer of the Sharpness Docks Company, at Whitminster Lock, and discuss the matter with him, and that Mr Mills and the Clerk be requested to attend a Board Meeting of the Sharpness Docks Company on the 24^th inst, to confer with the Directors with a view to some friendly arrangement being come to between the two Companies.
The Probate of the Will of the late Mrs J C Davies was produced to the Committee for registration in proof of her death on a joint account with Messrs William Davies and Edward Palling Little and was ordered to be entered in the Transfer Books of the Company.
An application was read from Mrs A E Taylor whose husband it the tenant of Eastington Canal House asking the Company to erect a Laundry for her use there. This the Committee declined to accede to but it was resolved that permission should be given to Mr Taylor to erect the same at his own expence.
