Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 21st November 1899 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper Chairman, Mr H Hamilton Mills Solicitor, Mr A B Hooper, Mr W J Stanton, Mr W Davies.
The Clerk reported, as the result of enquiries respecting 'Ebley Bridge', that the road had been repaired by the Surveyor of the Wheatenhurst Highway Board from the Main Road to about the centre of the Bridge, and that Mr Spring has repaired the road from the Mill to the Bridge. That the intervening space on the bridge had also been metalled, but by whom he had been unable to learn. It was left for further consideration by the Company's Solicitor before ordering any slight necessary repairs to the structure of the Bridge.
The Clerk reported that water had begun to return in small quantity at the Downfield Cottages, that the tenants decline to pay for water supply, and that consequently, he had not proceeded with the connexions of the Water Company.
Another complaint had been received from the Gas Company of a detention of their trow "Reliance" in the Bristol Road reach, and the Clerk presented the reply of the Engineer of the Sharpness Dock Company to his representation, recognizing the lowness of water which had been the cause, and suggesting the repair of the top gates alone of the Shallow Lock, for obviating such. The Committee considered that nothing less than making that Lock _as a whole_ effective would meet the necessity of the case.
