[1908 July] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 15^th day of July 1908 @ 3.15pm
Present: Mr E P Little Chairman, Mr F S Whittingham, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr F A Little, Mr W J Stanton, Mr A J M Ball, Mr P J Evans.
[Canal Survey] The lower section of the Canal - Eastington to Framilode - has been inspected by two members of the Committee, Messrs F S Whittingham & J R M Ball. Mr F A Little undertook to survey the section - Stroud to Ocean Bridge with the Clerk, and the Chairman was left to inspect the remainder thence to Eastington, he having informed the Clerk that he would be willing to do so.
[Holland & Price] An application having been made by Messrs Holland & Price to rent stables on the Wharf at Dudbridge it was decided to ask £6..- per annum but failing this the Clerk was authorised to let at a less rental.
[Shallow Lock Bridge] Authority was given to the Clerk to purchase the necessary pitch pine for repairing the Shallow Lock Bridge the cost of the same being estimated at about £6..-.
[Bridge Notice] Communications from the Canal Association having been read, including Statement of A/c and Annual Report, Mr P J Evans and Mr F A Little were appointed a Committee as to the adoption by the Company of a Bridge Notice mentioned.
[Workmens Insurance] The Clerk reported that he had renewed the Policy as to Workmens Insurance with Henry L Riseley & Sons of 33 Corn Street, Bristol, for the year ending June 30/09, the premium payable by the Company being £1..15..-.
[Stroud Metal C^o] The Stroud Metal C^o having purchased a house at Dudbridge having a water connection with the Canal, the Clerk was instructed to get the Company to sign a similar agreement to that of the previous owner (Mr Knight).
[August Meeting] In accordance with recent precedent, it was ordered that the monthly meeting of the Committee be suspended in August.
