{Mrs Wights claim re loss of calf] A letter from Mrs Wight, of Westend Farm, Eastington, addressed to the Clerk, was read, claiming compensation for the loss of a calf, which had strayed through a stile on 'Westfield Bridge', into a field of her own and dies of overfeeding on the mangolds. It appeared that her own fences were mostly responsible for this, and the Clerk was instructed to reply in terms drafted by the Solicitors, that the Company cannot entertain such claim.
[Tides at Framilode] The height of the highest tides at Framilode were reported as 18' 11" January 1869. 19' 7" January 1877, 20' 1" February 1899 and these records have been marked on the post there.
[A/c] The Revenue Account for the Half Year ended Sept 30 and the _General Balance Sheet_, as decided on at the meeting - see page 103 - were presented by the Auditors Messrs Dudbridge & Sons, Mr Dudbridge explaining that in the latter he had left out about £40..- from 'Stock of Materials' being planks re provided for Stonehouse 'Ocean Bridge' which he considered to be properly as if in 'wear'.
