[1908 November] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of November 1908 @ 3.15pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper Chairman, Mr F S Whittingham, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr J R M Ball, Mr W J Stanton, Mr F A Little, Mr S S Marling (late), Mr W Davies.
Mr E A Price Premises on the Wharf Dudbridge] The Clerk reported that Mr E A Price, though he had paid the monthly rent (at 5.- p week) cannot see his way, now alone, to take the full premises at Dudbridge Wharf, and can only rent the 'Stable' and Office. The Committee allowed Mr Snape to interview him, and if he is prepared to sign the agreement as amended to 3/- p week, to accept him as tenant from Nov 28^th inst.
[Motor Notices of Bridges] Consideration was given to the information obtained by the Clerk, as directed, from other Companies, on the subject of Heavy Motor Notices for the Bridges. It was decided to seek more definite indications, especially from the Gloucestershire County Council and from the Rochdale Canal Company. Mr Snape was instructed to obtain a personal interview with Mr Gardom, and a further reply from Rochdale as to their ultimate decision.
[Crane Chain at Dudbridge] The Clerk reported having forwarded the Chain of the Crane at Dudbridge Wharf to Messrs Connop Bros Cradley Heath Staffs for annealing and testing and for any repair found necessary. He submitted their reply and particulars of charges. It was suggested that he should refer to any regulations and Factory Acts bearing on this matter.
[Shares 15,18,19,88,123,124,130,132,161,165] Ferdinand Samford Whittingham of Stroud in the County of Gloucester, Solicitor, attended under a written authority form Mary Alice Stephens and Beatrice Helena Stephens dated the 9^th day of November 1908 of 131 Tutbury Road Horninglow in the County Borough of Burton-on-Trent Spinsters Executrices of the Will of John Stephens of 131 Tutbury Road Horninglow in the County Borougg of Burton-on-Trent formerly of Morley's Hill Horninglow aforesaid deceased who died on the 8^th day of September 1908 at 131 Tutbury Road aforesaid and who at the time of his death held ten shares in the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation N^o respectively 15, 18, 19, 123, 124, 130, 132, 161, 165 now standing in the name of the said John Stephens aforesaid deceased in the Books of the said Company and made out their claim to the said ten shares by producing the tickets of titles of the said ten shares and the Probate of the Will of the said John Stephens the said Will bearing date the 24^th day of June 1904 and proved by the said Executrices in the Principal Probate Registry of His Majestys High Court of Justice on the 23^rd day of October 1908 and the claim was admitted accordingly and new tickets or titles ordered to be made out on the tickets or titles of the said shared being delivered up.
