[1911 June] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 21^St day of June 1911 @ 3.30 o'clock pm
Present: Philip Jas Evans, A J Morton Ball, Henry R Hooper, Edward P Little, Walter J Stanton, W^m Davies, F S Whittingham.
[Minutes] The minutes of the previous Meeting were read and confirmed.
[North British Railway C^o Investment] The Certificate for £500 convertible preference Stock Stock (1875) in the North British Railway Company standing in the names of Sir W H Marling Bart and Messrs A J Morton Ball, H Hamilton Mills and Arthur B Hooper were produced.
[Canal Association] Correspondence with the Canal Association was read and in answer to their query as to Returns under the Finance Act Mr Snape was instructed to write them that the Returns had been already made.
[Mrs Pockett Framilode] A letter from Mrs Pockett as to the rent of the Cottage at Framilode was read and discussed and it was decided that the Committee could not further reduce the rent but they considered that she might reasonably apply for the Rates to be reduced in proportion to the reduction already made in the Rent.
[Canal Inspection] The Report of Messrs Margetson & Evan's after Inspection of the upper section of the Canal (Eastington to Stroud) was read also the Report of the Lower Section (Framilode to Eastington) following the Inspection by Messrs F A Littel and Hy R Hooper - and Mr Snape reported that the matters therein referred to had been or were about to be dealt with.
The subject of the Swing Bridge leading to the Brush Works in Stonehouse mentioned in one of the Reports was discussed and correspondence with Messrs Vowles and Sons was read. Mr Snape was instructed to see Messrs Vowles and ascertain if they would be willing to contribute say Forty pounds towards the cost of putting a stronger Bridge at this point so as to avoid the danger of the heavy traffic to the Brush Works proving too much for the Bridge which was not built with a view to carrying such heavy loads.
[Repairs Cottage at Eastington] Estimates for repairs to the Cottage at Eastington Docks occupied by Workman were put in and the Committee decided to accept the Tender of Mr S Hopson of £6..10..6.
[Thames & Severn Canal] A letter from the Clerk of the County Council to the Chairman was read and discussed and it was decided to appoint a sub-Committee consisting of Sir W H Marling Bart, Messrs A J Morton Ball, E^d P Little, Hy H Hooper & P J Evans (with Mr Whittingham to assist) to consider the question of leasing the Thames and Severn Canal from the County Council.
[Traffic] The Traffic from April 1^st to June 10^th was £220 against £223 same period in 1910 and £185 same period 1909.
The balance at Bank stood at £245..1..10.
