Mr Truscott repaired wall at Newtown around land rented by him.
New swing bridge at Shallow Lock erected.
Mr E P Little, seconded by J Margeston, proposed to raise floor of dairy occupied by Mr Pockett at Framilode so that the level of water in Framilode Pound can be raised six inches to enable heavy traffic to pass. Cost about £2 10s.
Middle gates at Double Locks to be repaired. Timber of heads, spliced, and three new bars, 27 feet by 6 inch cube @ 3s 6d = £4 16s 3d. Two new balance poles.
3 feet 4 inches of water in centre of Framilode Basin. Dredging after salmon fishing season when mud can be deposited in river.
Special Committee of Thames & Severn Canal Trust at Gloucester 10 July. Wish that Stroudwater Navigation should make proposal re leasing T&S Canal.
Traffic 1 April to date £285. £305 1910, £289 1909, £240 1908.
[1911 July] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 19^th day of July 1911 @ 3.30 o'clock pm
Present: Philip Jas Evans, Edward P Little, Walter J Stanton, W^m Davies, Jack Margetson, W H Marling, F A Little, F S Whittingham.
[Clerks report] The Clerk reported:-
1 That a copy of the minute made at the last meeting respecting Mrs Pockett's application for a further reduction of Rent - had been sent to her but no reply had been received.
2 That he had been unable t arrange an interview with Mr Vowles as to the Swing Bridge at Stonehouse up to the present.
3 That the painting, etc, ordered at Eastington Dock House had been commenced.
4 That Mr Truscott had repaired the wall at Newtown around land rented by him.
5 That the new Swing bridge at Shallow Lock had been erected.
[Warehouse at Framilode] Correspondence with the Assistant Overseer at Saul was produced by which it appeared that the proposal of the Saul authorities to rate a small Warehouse of the Navigation at present unassessed had been abandoned.
[Dairy floor Framilode] It was resolved on the proposition of Mr E P Little seconded by Jack Margetson to raise the floor of the dairy occupied by Mr Pockett at Framilode on consent of owner and occupier being obtained in order the level of the water in the Framilode Pound may be raised six inches to enable heavy traffic to pass. It being estimated that the cost of raising the floor would be about £2..10..0.
[Double Locks] Mr Snape reported that the Middle Gates at Double Locks require repair. Timber required for Heads, spliced, and three new bard would be 27' 6" cube @ 3/6 = £4..16..3. Two new balance poles will shortly be wanted. Also that, at Framilode Basin, there is 3' 4" of water in centre of Basin and Dredging will be undertaken after the Salmon Fishing Season when the mud dredged can be deposited in the River.
[Thames & Severn Canal] The Chairman stated that he with Mr Snape had attended by request the meeting of the Special Committee of the Thames and Severn Canal at Gloucester, on 10^th July, - that Committee being still desirous that the Stroudwater Navigation Company should make some proposal as to leasing the Thames & Severn Canal but nothing definite was arranged.
[Nest Meeting] It was proposed by the Chairman & seconded by Sir W H Marling Bart, and carried unanimously that the next Committee Meeting shall take place on September 20^th.
[Traffic] The traffic for period from April 1^st to date was stated to be £285, against £305 last year for same time £289 in 1909 & £249 un 1908.
The credit balance at Bank stood at £343..-.
