Damage to canal banks at Ryeford by Dr Perkins’ tenant.
Nothing heard from Messrs Ball Smith. Matter dropped.
Mr Whittingham had considered correspondence with Canal Association re wayleaves for telephone posts, etc. Mr Snape to write to Post Office authority. 1s per pole, stay or street. 1s per wire for crossing canal. Maximum charge of 5s where more than 5 wires crossed canal together.
Inspector of Weights and Measures found one of weighbridges incorrect. Mr Snape to have it repaired.
Saul Bridge to be repaired shortly. Timber hauliers using bridge warned against taking heavy loads over it.
New pair of top gates with cills, etc, complete, fixed at top lock of Double Locks at Ryeford.
Merrett of Ebley, a timber haulier, caught netting canal for fish. Net confiscated. Merrett called at office and apologised. Decision not to prosecute.
Placing on bridges iron plates with warning notices under recent Motor Act considered. Decision to avoid expenditure and reaffix printed notices as required.
Letter from Mr S J Coley re drinking water supply to Double Locks cottage. Well must be thoroughly cleaned and put in order.

[1912 Sept] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of September 1912 @ 3.30 o'clock pm

[Winding Hole at Ryeford] With reference to the damage to Canal Banks at Ryeford by D^r Perkins' Tenant it was reported that nothing further had been head from Messrs Ball Smith & C^o. IT was decided to let the matter drop.
[G P O Telephone charges] Mr Whittingham reported that he had considered the correspondence with the Canal Association on the subject of Wayleaves for telephone posts, etc, and after discussion Mr Snape was instructed to write to the Post Office Authority and offer to accept 1/- per pole stay or strut and 1s/- per wire for crossing the Canal with a maximum charge of 5/- where more than 5 wires crossed the Canal together.
[Clerks Report] The Clerk reported:
1 That the Inspector of Weights and Measures had pronounced one of the Weighbridges to be incorrect and Mr Snape was instructed to have it repaired.
2 That the Saul Bridge would be repaired shortly and in the meantime the Timber Hauliers using the Bridge had been warned against taking heavy loads over it.
3 That a new pair of Top Gates with cills, etc, complete had been fixed at the Top Lock of the Double Locks at Ryeford.
[Netting Canal] 4 That Merrett of Ebley (at timber haulier) had been caught netting the Canal for fish and the net confiscated. Merrett had called at the Office and apologised and it was decided not to prosecute in this case.
[Bridge Notices] The question of placing on the Bridges Iron plates with warning notices under the recent Motor Act was considered and an Estimate of cost produced and it was decided to avoid the Expenditure at present and reaffix the printed notices as required.
[Well at Double Locks] A letter from Mr S J Coley was read reporting on the drinking water supply to Double Locks Cottage and it was decided that the well must be thoroughly cleaned and put in order.
[Credit Balance] The credit balance at Bankers was stated to be £463..4..10 comparing with 424..16.3 for same date in 1911, 492..8..5 in 1910. 263..18..8 in 1909, 267..7..6 in 1908.
[Traffic] The Traffic from April 1^st to Aug 31 amounted to £451 as compared with £425 for same period in 1911, £438 in 1910, £418 in 1909 & £365 in 1908.
