Sub-committee report re crossing of wires over canal from proposed Electric Power Station. £60 as commutation of rent for right to cross. Electric Power Co to have all their coal by canal. Safeguard to interests of Navigation and traders.
Manager’s report: Pier of bridge at Ryeford repaired. Account to Mr Brunsdon.
Gas Works Bridge repaired. Gas Company to pay half cost as usual.
Several yards of towing path near Ryeford Bridge piled. Also at Ebley.
Swing bridge near Bond’s Mill required slight repair. Cost £2.
Notice sent to Mr Bush. Trees belonging to him needed lopping or cutting down. If no reply, Company would do needful lopping themselves.
Mabel Harriott Daubeney and William Lock Mellersh claimed shares nos.2,125, will of Hugh Frederick Daubeney.
[1914 Dec] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 16^th day of December 1914 @ 3.30 o'clock pm

[Stroud Electric Light] The sub-Committee appointed at last meeting of the Committee to meet the Stroud Urban District Council and Mr Edwards with respect to the crossing of wires over the Canal from the proposed Electric Power Station reported that they had after a long discussion offered to accept £60,,- as commutation of Rent for the right to cross provided that the Electric Company had all their coal by the Canal and that a suitable agreement was signed safeguarding the interests of the Navigation and Traders. To this no reply has been received as yet.
[Ryeford Bridge] The Manager reported (a) The the pier of the Bridge at Ryeford had been repaired and a/c sent to M^r Brunsdon.
[Gas Works Bridge] (b) The Gas Works Bridge had been repaired and the Gas Company were prepared to pay half the cost as usual.
[Tow-path] (c) Several yards of the Towing path near Ryeford Bridge had been piled as also at Ebley.
[Swing Bridge Bonds Mill] (d) The Swing Bridge near Bond's Mill required slight repair - the cost of which would not probably exceed £2..0..0.
[Trees at Eastington M^r Bush] 9e0 That notice had been sent to Mr Bush that certain Trees belonging to him needed lopping as they overhang the Canal property and that others required cutting down as they were dangerous. No reply has been received and Mr Snape was instructed to write again and intimate that if not attended to the Company would have to do the needful lopping themselves.
[Claim of Shares N^os 2 & 125] Ferdinand Samford Whittingham of Stroud in the County of Gloucester Solicitor attended under a written authority from Mabel Haricott Danbeny of Hope Lodge Parkstone in the County of Dorset Widow and William Lock Mcllersh of N^o 7 Clarence Street Cheltenham in the said County of Gloucester Solicitor Executors of the Will and Codicil of Hugh Frederick Danbeny late of Hope Lodge Parkston aforesaid formerly of Thatchley House Prestbury in the said County of Gloucester a Captain in the Royal Navy on the Retired List deceased who died on the 18^th day of August 1914 and who at the time of his death held two shared in the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation numbered respectively 2 and 124 now standing in the name of the said Hugh Frederic Danbeny aforesaid deceased in the Books of the said Company and made out their claim by producing the tickets or title to the said two shares and he Probate of the Will and Codicil of the said Hugh Frederick Danbeny the said Will bearing date the 3^rd day of February 1906 with the Codicil bearing date the 7^th day of August 1907 and proved by the said Executors in the Blandford District Probate Registry on the 2^nd day of November 1914 and the claim was admitted accordingly and new tickets or titles ordered to be made out on the tickets of titles of the said shares being delivered up.
[Traffic] The traffic for the period since October 1^st 1914 amounted to 215^£..12^s..0^d against 231..11..0 this time last year and 255..16..6 in 1912.
