[1918 Jany] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 16^th day of January 1918 @ 3.20 o'clock pm
Jack Margetson. W R Bloxam.
The matter of Mr Fredericks salary was discussed following his application for an advance and a letter read from Mr Manning Lewis on the subject.
It was decided to grant him a rise of 2/6 per week as from Dec 25 1917.
A letter had been received from Mr Armitage representing Mr Arthur S Winterbotham in which he pointed out the need for certain small repairs. Mr Snape had met Mr Armitage and the leakage will be seen to but the strip on the weir to which he objected is as at has been for many years and is quite necessary.
Mr Armitage had demurred to the demand on Mr Winterbotham for the quit rent on water agreed to be supplied on the ground that the pipes had never been coupled up yet. The Clerk was instructed to write again for the rent due 1^st October 1917 and to point out that Mr Winterbotham could give notice under the Agreement if he wished to be released in future.
The Agreement with Messrs Vowles had been signed and the £12 due to Sept 29^th next had been received and acknowledged.
The Tonnage on Jan 15^th amounted to £211..17.4 against £236..16..2 last year.
The credit balance at the Bank was £435..16..0 as compared with £391..14..0 in 1917 at same date.
