[1918 April] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 24^th day of April 1918 @ 3.20 o'clock pm
Present: Philip Jas Evans, Edward P Little, F A Little, W^m Davies, W R Bloxam.
The Minutes of the last meeting (when only four members of Committee were present) were read and confirmed.
No further communication had been received form Mr W G Sealey concerning the accident to his horse and trap at Saul Bridge.
The Insurance C^o had granted 15^s/1^d a week as from the date of accident to Minett at Framilode and he Minett had agreed to this - he had not yet returned to work.
J White, Lock-keeper at Eastington had written asking for an advance of 5/- per week. The Committee agreed to an increase of 3.6 - raising to same level as the Thames & Severn Canal rate of wages - on the understanding he will make himself generally useful as required.
It was reported that James Harris, Tidesman at Framilode had died and the names of Leonard Pocket and George Cook were put forward for the vacant post. Both had some qualification in their favour but it was left to the Manage to settle which should be chosen.
Mr Dudbridge the Accountant was present now & the Half Yearly balance sheet was read and compared with previous periods. It was decided to recommend a Dividend at the rate of Ten shillings per share free of Income Tax payable on the 1^st of May next which would leave a balance of £242..9..1 to be carried forward to next half-year.
