J White, lock keeper Eastington, whose wages were raised from 28s to 31s 6d, pressed for full advance of 5s per week. Asked if he is required to work on canal away from his length. Offer of 32s a week standing wages. Rate of pay for all lock keepers and labourers.

Tidesman at Framilode: Clerk had written to Mr Sidney Preston, Canal Control, 21 Surrey Street, Strand, re release of Pockett. In meantime services of G Cook, a captain of a barge on the canal, obtained.
Chairman to deal with S J Humphries’ application for increase in salary.
