Report on Annual Inspection of canal by F A Little, W R Bloxam, Jack Margetson and Chairman.
Increase in tonnage rated in Column I (coal etc.) at present more than one farthing below maximum allowed by Act 1895 so as to stand ¼ lower than maximum. In case of stone Chairman to arrange with Sir Ashton Lister a reasonable advance on rates. On merchandise passing on to Thames & Severn Canal, charge from Junction to Wallbridge 8d per ton on everything.

Serious undermining of towing path by brook at Ryeford.

Mr E F Gardom considered printed notices re Heavy Motor Car Traffic should be continued by replacing them when they disappear from weather or other cause.

[1918 Sept] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18^th day of September 1918.

The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.
The Report by Messrs F A Little and W R Bloxam following their inspection of the Canal from Stonehouse to Wallbridge was read and discussed also that of Mr Jack Margetson and the Chairman on the lower section Framilode to Stonehouse.
The question of raising the present tolls and charges was gone into and it was decided to increase all rates in Column 1 (Coal, etc) where they are at present more than one farthing below the maximum allowed by the Act 1895 so as to stand at ¼ lower than the maximum and in the case of Stone the Chairman undertook to arrange with Sir Ashton Lister if possible for a reasonable advance on rates at present charged. As to Merchandise passing on to the Thames & Severn Canal the charge from the Junction to Wallbridge was to be made 8^d per ton on everything.
Mr E P Little was appointed the representative of the Company on the Stroud Fuel and Lighting Committee.
The Manager was instructed to arrange for the closing of the Towing Path to the Public within six years of the last closing.
He was also authorised to deal at once with the rather serious undermining of the Towing Path by the Brook at Ryeford.
The advisability of the Company's joining the Scottish Railway Stockholders Protection Association was suggested but it was decided to leave it open till the next meeting of Committee.
The Estimate of £2..12..6 put in by Samuel Bradley of Frampton for repairing roof of shed at Framilode was accepted.
A letter from Mr E J Gardom was read in which he stated that he considered the printed notice respecting Heavy Motor Car Traffic should be continued replacing them when they disappear from weather or other causes.
The Tonnage was given as £374..10..2 to date as compared with £363..0..7 same time in 1917 and the credit balance at Bank was £315..8..8. as against £306..0..2 this time last year.
Ordered that the next Committee Meeting be held on Wednesday the 23^rd day of October 1918 @ 3.20pm and the General Half Yearly Meeting on the same day @ 4 o'clock pm.
