Summary

Mr Bloxam reported re whether Canal Company or owners of Ryeford Saw Mills were responsible for repairs of wall of lie-by there. Erected by owners of saw mills. Deeds showed no liability for owner of mills for repair of wall. Mr Snape to do work and arrange with Messrs Workman to bear part of expense.
First report of Select Committee on Transport. Inferred that Committee, having dealt only with Irish transport, would investigate possibilities of British Waterways later.
Tonnage showed very considerable percentage of increase, still very small. Balance of liabilities over assets reduced by about £980 in year. Now £3405 12s 4d.

[1918 Nov] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 20^th day of November 1918 @ 3.20 o'clock pm
Present: Philip Jas Evans, F A Little, W R Bloxam, W^m Davies, S S Marling.
Mr Bloxam reported that he had looked into the question of whether the Canal Company of the Owners of Ryeford Saw Mills were responsible for the repairs of the wall of the lie-by there, erected by the Owners of the Saw Mills and had come to the conclusion that the deeds showed no liability on the part of the owner of the Mills for the repair of the wall in question.
Mr Snape was instructed to do the work and if possible to arrange with Messrs Workman to bear part of the expense.
The first report of the Select Committee on Transport was put in and it was inferred that the Committee which so far had dealt only with Irish Transport would be investigating the possibilities of British Water wasy later on.
[T&S Canal A/s] The proof A/c of the Thames & Severn Canal was produced and compared with last year's A/c.
[T&S Canal] The Tonnage showed a very considerable per centage of increase - though still very small - and the balance of liabilities over assets was reduced by about £980..- in the year standing now at £3405..12..4.
The credit balance of the Stroudwater Navigation at Bank was £163..7..6 against £263,,5,,0 last year.
The Tonnage to date amounted to £108 comparing with £103..8..2 for same period in 1917.
