Summary

William Timbrell had stated, re Government restrictions as to purchase and sale of coal, his application for premises on Dudbridge Wharf had to stand over.
Ira J Bassett can go no further with his proposals re land on Stonehouse Wharf, for deposit of oil tanks and garden. Government had not released their control of oil.
Notice to be put up re days canal towing paths stopped to public, Monday 13 January – Friday 17 January.
Charles Stevens, demobilised, sought reinstatement in Company’s employ. To be reinstated in his old position as lock keeper. Present occupant of post to be put on other work.
Canal closed for five days owing to ice, ending 11 February when ice boat was run and Navigation opened.
Clerk to enquire whether Seven Fishery Board wished to continue tenancy of Fishing Rights. Lease expired 31 December.
Chairman, Mr E P Little, mentioned an invitation circular sent to some of Committee by Gloucester Incorporated Chamber of Commerce re address to be given at Guildhall, Gloucester by Mr Howard Humphreys, former Chairman of the Canal Control, Midland, Subcommittee on 18 February. No one able to attend. Clerk to thank Mr P Barrett Cooke for the invitation circular and ask for report of proceedings, if any.
Tonnage £282 11s 4d, 1918 £283 5s 1d.

[1919 Feby] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 19^th day of February 1919 @ 3.20 o'clock pm

In the absence of the Chairman Mr E P Little was voted to the Chair.
The Clerk reported that:
1 William Timbrell had stated that having regard to the Government restrictions as to the purchase and sale of coal his application for premises on the Wharf at Dudbridge would have to stand over for the present.
2 Mr Ira J Bassett also stated that he can go no further with his proposals respecting land on the Canal Wharf at Stonehouse. for deposit of oil tanks and garden, as the Government had not up to present released their control of oil.
3 The Canal Towing paths had been stopped to the Public as follows:

Is hereby given, that the use of Towing path of this Canal, by the Public, will be stopped on the following days, viz: 1919
On Monday Jany 13^th at Wallbridge, Lodgemore Bridge, Gas Works Bridge, Dudbridge.
On Tuesday Jany 14^th at Hilly Orchard Bridge, Ebley Mills Bridge, Oil Mills Bridge, Stanley Meadow and Ryeford Bridge.
On Wednesday Jany 15^th at Ryeford Bridge, Stonehouse Swing Bridge, Stonehouse Cross Bridge, Stonehouse Ocean Bridge, Bond's Mill Bridge.
On Thursday Jany 16 Roving Bridge, Eastington Bridge, Westfield Bridge, Bengough's Land near Bristol Road.
On Friday Jany 17 at Bristol Road Bridge, Walk Bridge, Junction, Saul, Framilode.

4 Charles Stevens (who had been demobilised) had written seeking reinstatement in the Company's employ. Resolved that Charles Stevens be reinstated in his old position as Lock-keeper as promised. The Manager making the best arrangement he can as to putting the present occupant of the post on other work.
5 Owing to ice the Canal had been closed for five days ending the 14^th Feby when the ice-boat was run and Navigation opened.
The Clerk was instructed to write to the Severn Fishery Board to enquire whether they wished to continue the tenancy of the Fishing rights the lease with them having expired on the 31^st December last.
The Chairman, Mr E P Little, mentioned that an invitation circular had been sent to some of the Committee by the Gloucester Incorporated Chamber of Commerce respecting the address to be given at the Guildhall Gloucester by Mr Howard Humphreys late Chairman of the Canal Control, Midland, Sub-Committee, on the 18^th February but none of such Members of the Committee had been able to attend.
The Clerk was instructed to write to M^r P Barrell Cooke to thank him for the invitation circular and to inform him that unfortunately the Committee were unable to attend and to ask for a report of the proceedings, if any.
The Tonnage amounted to £282..11..4 to date against £283..5..1 same period in 1918.
Bank credit balance was £283..6..4 compared with £302,,2,,7 same period in 1918.
