Summary

Half Yearly General Meeting. Tonnage £2844 4s 7d. Balance after wages, etc, £2202 3s 9d. Dividend of £10 declared.
Trade in coals at all wharfs on Navigation except at Wallbridge Wharf to be discontinued.
Sum not exceeding £200 to be added to coal account.
No clerk, agent or servant of Company to receive any gift, gratuity or present from any barge owners or persons navigating or managing vessels on canal or any account or under any pretense on pain of dismissal.
Committee to collect information on appointing clerk to be stationed at the Junction of the G&B Canal, erecting dock for weighing vessels, ascertaining weight of coals and goods carried and suggesting proper plan for erecting same.
Printed tickets or certificates to be issued with weight and place of delivery of all coals and goods, signed by person receiving them. Penalty for neglect or refusal strictly enforced.
New bonds for performance of duty by servants of Company required.

At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn Strod on Thursday the 27 day of October 1831
Henry Wyatt Esq^r in the Chair.
The minutes of the last General Meeing were read and confirmed.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the Affairs of the Company (as directed by Act of Parliament) and were examined & confirmed.
It appears by the Accounts that the sum of £2844..4..7 has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the 17^th day of April last to the 17^th day of October Instant; a part of which has been applied towards the payment of wages dibursments etc and that there remains in the Treasurers Hands (after paying the last dividend) the sum of £2203..3..9.
Ordered that a Dividend of Ten Pound be paid on each share by the Treasurers on the first day of November next, and that our Clerk do transmit circular Letters to all the Proprietors to inform them, that they may draw upon the Treasurers of apply to them for payment of the same.
Ordered that the Trade in Coals at all the wharfs on the Navigation except at Walbridge Wharf, be discontinued on the part of the proprietors.
Ordered that the Treasurers do advance from the account of the Navigation proprietors any sum no exceeding Two hundred pounds to the Coal account of the proprietors, to be repaid as soon as possible.
Ordered that no Clerk Agent or Servant of the Company do receive any Gift Gratuity or present form any Barge owner or person navigating or managing vessels on the Canal on any account or under any pretence whatsoever on pain of dismissal; and that Notice to this Effect be given tot eh Clerks and Servants accordingly.
Ordered that it be referred to the Committee to collect information as to the propriety of appointing a Clerk to be stationed at the Junction of the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal; and the propriety of erecting a Dock or other apparatus for weighing Vessels, or for otherwise ascertaining the weight of Coals and Goods carried in and Vessel navigating the Canal; with plans and Estimates of the same; And that they do also suggest a proper place for erecting the same, and do report thereon to the next General Meeting of Proprietors.
Ordered that in future there be issued to the Owners Masters and other persons having charge of any Vessel navigating the Canal, (who shall require the same) printed Tickets or Certificates, to be filled up with the Weight and place of Delivery of all Coals, and other Goods, which shall be delivered out of or from any Barge or other Vessell on the line of the Navigation; such Certificate, or Tickets, to be signed by the person or persons receiving such Coals or Goods or his or their Clerk. And that in all cases where the master owner or manager of any Vessell entering the Navigation shall neglect or refuse to give an account of the Cargoes and of the places where intended to land the same, or shall give a false account or shall deliver any part of hteir loading or goods at any other place or places than what is or are mentioned in the account, the penalty of the Act imposed for such neglect or refusal be strictly enforced and levied, unless such Certificate or Tickets of the delivery of the Cargoes or of any part thereof be signed in the manner aforesaid be produced or other satisfactory proof be given to the company's Clerk of the Coad or Goods delivered, with the weight and place of delivery, previously to the clearing out of such Vessel, etc.
Ordered That New Bonds for the due performance of their Duty by the Servants of the Company, be required, with proper Sureties to the Satisfaction of the Committee.
