Concerning the supply of water from the River Frome to the G&B Canal
Saul Lodge 25th April 1833
Sirs
I have just received your Note of Yesterday's date, and in reply beg to inform you, that the supply of our Canal is again opened, by Order of Mr Cambridge, but how long that may continue I cannot say; but should it be stopped, and the Water in the Canal fall, that moment I shall send & clear out the Locks,
I further beg to inform you, that it is finally settled, that two 45 Horse power Engines will be put up at Gloucester with all possible dispatch, & as soon as that is done, I shall send the Men to dredge and clear all that part of your Canal from the Weir to the Junction. On the part of the Gloster & Berkeley Canal Company I beg to offer my grateful thanks both to you, and your Canal Company, for the many Acts of Kindness we have received from time to time since the Works have been opened
I am
