Letter received from the Council denying any liability for Gas Works Bridge.
Marling & Evans to be offered a tonnage charge of 6d a ton form use of towing path if agreement signed, but otherwise to accept their offer of 3d per ton.
Wycliffe College no longer use canal as place for bathing. They sought free passage for their pleasure boats to the Junction, permission to lift canoes/light craft over the locks, permission to boat on any reach, and a special rate for the “Griffin” through Framilode Lock. Permissions granted by Chairman.
Stonehouse Parish Council terminated agreement for Bathing Station.
Clerk to seek second-hand earthenware trough for use by Mr Mills of Dudbridge Lock Cottages.
Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesdayn the 17^th of June 1936 @ 4 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Marcus Stewart.
Only two Members of the Committee being present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Gas Works Bridge
A letter from the Stroud U D Council dated the 16^th June 1936 was read denying any liability on the part of the Council. The Chairman undertook to see the Secretary of the Gas Company.
Dudbridge Wharf
In accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter had been written to M^r Willsher.
Messrs Marling &Evans Ltd, Towing path next Ebley Mills
In accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter had been sent to Messrs Marling & Evans dated the 25^th May 1936 to which Messrs Marling & Evans had replied under date the 26^th May 1936. The Committee agreed to offering them a tonnage charge of six pence per ton for the use of the towing path, subject to an agreement being signed, otherwise to accept their offer of 3^d per ton.
Wycliffe College, Stonehouse Bathing & Boating
M^r Toogood had put forward the following suggestions for the use of the Canal in place of the bathing for which they had made other arrangement on the College Grounds. Viz:
1 Through free passage for their pleasure boats to the Junction.
2 Permission to lift canoes and light craft over the locks.
3 Permission to boat on any reach.
4 Special rate if any for the "Griffin" through Framilode Lock.
5 Dredging.
M^r Toogood pointed out that suggestions 1, 2 & 3 were urgent. The Chairman stated that he had given his consent to them.
Stonehouse Parish Council, Bathing Station
The Clerk was authorised to accept a notice sent by the Stonehouse Parish Council to terminate their agreement with the Company on 24^th June next.
Stonehouse & Dudbridge Wharves: M^r Baker
The consideration of a verbal inquiry by M^r Baker as to the disposal of these premises was ordered to stand over.
Dudbridge Property
A letter from M^r Mills of the Lock- Cottages at Dudbridge asking for a new trough. The Clerk was asked to enquire for a second hand earthenware trough and get it fixed.
Next Meeting
Ordered that the next Committee Meeting be held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 22^nd July at 4 o'clock pm and the general Half Yearly meeting on the same day at 4.30 o'clock pm.
