At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Wednesday the 20^th Feb^ry 1833
Present: M^r Jos Fisher, M^r Grazebrook, M^r Cosham, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Croome, M^r Wyatt, M^r Wathen.
Examined the Books & Accounts of the Company.
George Hawker of the parish of Painswick in the County of Gloucester, Gentlemad, attended on the part of Caroline Mary Veel now of late of Chipping Sodbury in the County of Gloucester, Spinster, The Rev^d David Jones nor or late of the same place, and Robert Cooper of Woottonunderedge in the same County, Esquire, Executrix and Executors named in the last Will and Testament of Anna Veel late of Chipping Sodbury aforesaid, Spinster, deceased, and made out thei claim as such Executrix and Executors aforesaid to Two Shares (number 128 and 130) in the Stroudwater Navigation standing in the name of the said Anna Veel by producing the Probate of the last Will and Testament of the said Anna Veel dated the Twenty sixth day of May One thousand eight hundred and thirty two and proved by them in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury the twenty eighth day of July One thousand eight hundred and thirty two. And the claim of the said Caroline Mary Veel, David Jones and Robert Cooper was admitted accordingly.
Ordered that M^r Henry Wyatt, M^r Thomas Croome, M^r Coshal and Mess^rs P H Fisher and Joseph Fisher be a deputation of the Committee to meet and confer with M^r Baker, Surveyor, on his plans and estimates respecting the alteration in Ryeford Bridge Road, etc.
Letter of the Clerk of the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal Company of the 26^th December last having been read - And the same not appearing to the Committee to be a satisfactory reply to the Application which was made to the Chairman of their Committee under the directions of the Committee of the 24^th October 1832:-
Ordered that our Clerk do write to the Clerk of he Glouc^r & Berkeley Canal Company and convey to him our opinion thereon; and do request to know whether the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Committee in reply to our said last Application, preparatory to the next General Half yearly meeting of this Company - and to express the regret which this Company would feel in taking any steps which should tend to inconvenience the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Company.
