Summary

[1943 Oct] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 20^th day of October 1943 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: W R Bloxam, Henry R Hooper, G A Evans, G W Morton Ball, R J C Little.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.
Leicester Lovell & Coy Ltd, Water Supply
There was nothing to report.
Fire Force Association, Swindon, Wilts
The Clerk reported that the Association had not replied to the Navigation's letter.
Investment
The Clerk produced the Certificate for £183..17..8 three per cent National Defence Stock 1954/58.
Canal at Whitminster, RAF Moorage Charges
The Clerk produced a letter dated 4^th October 1943 from the Air Ministry of Works Department stating that the Air Ministry had made an Order prohibiting exercise of rights of way over a certain section of the Towing Path at Whitminster. The letter pointed out that the order is only effective during the period of the emergency. A copy of the Order in question was enclosed with the letter.
Mr Hopson's accounts amounting to £167..13..0 for repair of Swing Bridges,. General Maintenance of Canal and Buildings dated October 1943. After discussion the Committee directed that a Cheque be drawn and signed in payment of Mr Hopson's account for the repair of Saul Bridge £23..5..8 and for the Shallow Lock Bridge, £44.16..2 amounting together to £68..1..10.

The Clerk reported that new paddles had been fixed to the bottom gates at Westfield and Newtown Locks and the planking had also been repaired. A new flood gate had been fixed at Westfield Pound.
Claim of Share 12 late Major J N Blood
William Richard Bloxam of Stroud in the County of Gloucester, Solicitor, attended under a written authority form Herber Harger Scott of 10 College Green om the City Gloucester, Solicitor, and Arthur William King of Paston House Churchdown in the County Gloucester, Director, Executors of the Will of John Neptune Blood late of Millers Green in the City of Gloucester, who died at Constitution Walk Grefriars in the said City of the 29^th da of September 1942 and made out their claim to one share numbered 12 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation and now standing in the name of the said John Neptune Blood aforesaid in the Books of the said Company by producing the ticket or title of the said one share and the Probate of the Will of the said John Neptune Blood the said Will proved and registered in the Gloucester Probate Registry on the 6^th day of March 1943 and the claim was admitted accordingly and a new ticket or title ordered to be made out on the ticket or title of the said one share being delivered up.
Lodgemore Swing Bridge, Repair
The Chairman read a letter from Messrs Strachan & Coy. The Committee ordered the repair to be carried out and the necessary oak obtained.
Framilode Towing Path, Mrs Aldridge
The Chairman read a letter from Mrs Aldridge. After discussion the Chairman undertook to settle a letter for the Clerk to send Mrs Aldridge.
Sale of Withy Top at Stonehouse
The Clerk was directed to advertise in the Citizen.
