Mr Lisle of Sharpness Docks Co replied that both materials and labour were extremely scarce and only work absolutely essential in the national effort could be sanctioned.
Sharpness Dock Co to clear rubbish from culvert at Whitminster Aqueduct.
Gales has damaged Stonehouse and Dudbridge Wharfhouses.
As a matter of fact this Bridge has been out of order for some years now, but I am to ask that communication should be restored at as early a date as possible.
I am, Dear Sir,
Yours faithfully
Clerk & Surveyor
Mr Lisle had replied under date 30^th December 1943 stating that both materials and labour are extremely scarce at present time and the Ministry will not sanction any work which is not absolutely essential in the national effort, but the Navigations request will be borne in mind.
In the absence of the Chairman Mr Hooper settled a reply to be sent to M^r Lisle:

Dear Sir,
I am obliged for yours of he 30^th December last and my Committee would like to point out that this is a question of repairs and the only permit we have to apply for is the necessary materials in the same was as for other bridges.
Yours faithfully
Clerk & Surveyor.
There was nothing further to report.
Whitminster Aqueduct
The Chairman read a letter from the Clerk of the River Severn Catchment Board dated 15^th December 1943. The Clerk reported that the Sharpness Docks Company had undertaken to clear away rubbish that had accumulated next the mouth of the Culvert and would send in account of cost of carrying out the work.
Recent Gale
The Clerk reported that during the recent gale some damage had been done to the roof of the Wharfhouse at Dudbridge, and at Stonehouse Wharfhouse a Chimney had fallen and some tiles had been broken. M^r Hopson had undertaken to attend to the Wharfhouse at Dudbridge, and M^r Blick of Stonehouse would do the necessary to the Wharfhouse at Stonehouse. The Committee agreed.
