[1945 July] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 25^thJuly 945 @ 3 o'clock pm
W R Bloxam, G W Morton Ball, R J C Little.
There being only three Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Canal Framilode Pound, Closing
The Chairman read a letter he had settled for the Clerk to sent to the Sharpness New Docks Company and their reply thereto. It appears that the Docks Company do not wish to raise any objection to the Closing of the Framilode Pound providing the necessary Order makes it clear that the Docks Company is relieved of all responsibility to maintain or repair any of the portion abandoned. The Junction Lock shall be replaced by a permanent dam constructed to the satisfaction of the Docks Company. After discussion the Committee suggested that the Docks Company might fill up the Junction Lock with dredgings from their Canal.
Canal Lodgemore Pound
The Clerk reported that a channel had been cleared through the weeds from the Lodgemore Mills Bridge to the Gashouse Bridge, silt should now be removed from below the Culvert at Lodgemore to a point below Lodgemore Bridge.
Stroud Joint Sewerage Scheme
There was nothing to report.
Saul and Framilode Bridges, Decking
Reported that M^r Hopson had been instructed to carry out the work.
Ministry of War Transport, Removal of Temporary Defence Works
The Chairman read a letter from the Ministry of War Transport dated 21^st July. The Committee directed that particulars ben sent to the appropriate Authority as requested.
