Summary

Special Meeting. If any person should offer to pay quarter’s rent due for houses and premises at Dudbridge Wharf for Thomas Edward Wall, Dudbridge Wharf, Mr Hawker to accept. If on part of John George, he is to refuse as George not accepted as tenant.

At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Thursday the 23^rd Day of March 1837
Present: M^r Samuel Fisher, M^r Eycott, M^r P H Fisher, M^r T C Croome, M^r Cosham, M^r Wood, M^r Jos Fisher.
Ordered that the following Bill be paid by the Clerk, viz:
Samuel Smith, Mason: £12.8.2
Ordered that M^r Hawker be instructed as follows:
If any person should offer to pay the Quarters Rent which will be due for the House & premises at Dudbridge Wharf late in the occupation of Thomas Edward Wall - for or _on the part of_ M^r Wall - M^r Hawker may receive the same and give a Receitp as being rece'd of M^r _John George_, by the payment of such person: but no in any other form: _ But if the said Rent shall be offered on _the part of M^r George_ - M^r Hawker is to decline receiving it - and to intimate to the person offering the same, that the question respecting the Rent & Tenancy has better stand over for the present: & so as to avoid the _recognition_ of M^r George as Tennant.
